Hamburg, March 2015: The festive cheer continues for the airberlin Christmas plane. At the Airport Media Awards, “Flying home for Christmas” was voted the best campaign, winning 35% of the total general public vote.
The promotion, which airberlin and TRACK first introduced in 2011, is now a firm tradition.
For the 2014 festive season, TRACK and illustrator Thies Schwarz created an elaborate motif to decorate the exterior of a Boeing 737-800. The design showed a row of rooftops in a wintry landscape.
Another surprise was also in store for about 700 passengers at gates 44 and 45 in Terminal C of Berlin Tegel Airport. In seconds, the waiting areas turned into a magical winter wonderland with Christmas trees, snowflakes, and a merry-go-round for the children.
